Job Description

HealthFitness has a new opportunity for a Health Fitness Professional at our client site located in Warsaw, IN. In this position, you will coordinate, implement, and/or deliver health and fitness programs and services, promotions and outreach activities both onsite and virtually. You will be responsible for providing outstanding in-person and virtual services to members and program participants to maximize participation, outcomes and customer satisfaction.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervises facility; interacts with participants in person and virtually and monitors equipment and participant safety. Interacts with participants in person and ensures engagement with local and virtual offerings.

  • Contributes to a supportive and engaging culture that drives member participation. Coordinates and leads a variety of HealthFitness and program-specific health improvement programs & promotions onsite and virtually.

  • Promotes program offerings and engagement efforts to increase participation and re-engage inactive participants.

  • Conducts fitness testing and assessments and advises participants of results both onsite and virtually; designs individualized programs to meet the participant’s interests, abilities and goals.

  • Recruiting efforts for new members onsite and virtually; enrolls new participants and conducts facility, program, and equipment orientations safely.

  • Provides individual and group exercise instruction in future state; educates employees on proper techniques to maximize exercise safety and effectiveness.

  • Utilize marketing and communications that may be delivered onsite and virtually to improve engagement.

Education, Experience & Certifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Health Promotion, Kinesiology or related discipline.

  • CPR/AED certification through American Heart Association, Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute.

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including at minimum Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others.

  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.

  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands including project coordination.

  • Strong presentation skills and professionalism.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity.

  • Ability to adapt to teaching and learning onsite.

Preferred:

  • Internship and or one year fitness industry experience preferred.

  • Personal Training industry certification from ACE, ACSM, AFAA, NSCA, or NASM (may be required within one year of hire).

  • Industry recognized Group Exercise certification from ACE, AFAA, ACSM or NETA (may be required within one year of hire).

  • Proficiency in fitness assessment and exercise prescription.
