Union Hospital STAFFING COORDINATOR BS-UHHG NURSING ADMINISTRATION in TERRE HAUTE, Indiana

This position is Weekends Only.

The Staffing Coordinator generates, manages, and updates master schedules while making adjustments as needed according to census fluctuations, call-ins and budget parameters

Position Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and provides patient care staffing to ensure all shifts are staffed appropriately

  • Rounds on unit daily to obtain staffing for the shift

  • Communicates closely with Charge Nurses

  • Works on filling staffing vacancies ahead of time

  • Updates master schedule for each Nursing Unit

  • Maintains accurate staffing records for the hospital

  • Updates staffing tools for applicable units throughout the day

  • Updates and corrects time cards for each applicable unit

  • Keeps meticulous attendance records and assists with progressive discipline for absenteeism and tardiness

  • Completes payroll for all applicable units every other Monday

  • Competent in using IBEX and Bed-ready to monitor census

  • Assists the Resource Pool Manager in assigning/scheduling new employees for orientation

  • Competent in Kronos for scheduling and time cards

  • Maintains NDNQI Staffing data collection

Position Qualifications

  • Must have Baccalaureate Degree in Health Care related Field

  • Possess strong critical thinking and decision making skills

  • Able to efficiently multi-task and prioritize the care of the patient groups

  • Must be committed to continuous improvement, education and innovation

  • Must be able to contribute to a safe, positive, and productive environment
