Reid Health Diabetes Educator - Inpatient in Richmond, Indiana

Under the direction of the VP of Medical Affairs the IP CDE is responsible inpatient diabetes management. Provides assessment, planning, education, implementation and evaluation related to diabetes care. Adjusts medication as ordered by the attending provider, using standing orders and assessing the patient response. Educates patients and families about self-management survival skills to diverse patient populations. Provides ongoing training on diabetes care and management to inpatient providers and nursing. Works collaboratively with the Inpatient Glycemic Control Team.

Education Required: BSN from an accredited nursing program

Education Preferred: Masters preferred.

License Required: Current and valid Indiana RN license

Certification Required: Certified Dianbetes Educator (CDE)

Experience Required: RN and Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) with at list 3-5 years Nursing experience and 5 years Diabetes Education experience.
