Duties & Responsibilities

• Interprets internal / external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve automated liquid handling products, processes or services

• Applies understanding of customer expectations and user needs to develop genomics applications (e.g. next-generation sequencing, genome editing) on automation platforms

• Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations

• May lead functional and / or cross- functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk and/or complexity

• Communicates complex concepts in sales and marketing materials such as; posters, presentations, training, and application notes to support commercial activities for automated genomic solutions

• Establishes and grows effective networks that deliver insights into customers, technologies, and competitors

• Willing to travel (domestic and international) 20%. *Temporarily suspended due to COVID-19

Knowledge and Experience:

• Doctoral degree in life sciences with 4+ years’ experience, Master’s degree in life sciences with 7+ years’ experience, or bachelor’s degree in life sciences with 9+ years’ experience. Field-based application scientist experience a plus.

• Specialized depth and breadth of expertise in next generation sequencing. Molecular biology, cell culture, nucleic acid preparation, gene editing (CRISPR/CAS9) and high throughput transfection preferred

• Experience with automation a plus

• Ability to thrive in a highly metric-focused driven environment

• Attention to detail, specifically with automation proof of principle testing with accurate and timely supporting documentation

• Excellent communication skills
