  Inpatient Neurology Unit consists of 41 beds and a Nurse to Patient ratio of 1:3 or 14.

  Join our team of highly skilled & dedicated nurses in our Inpatient Neurology unit. Our associates provide excellent, compassionate care for our patients as well as each other. Our associates are flexible, hardworking, genuine, and great critical thinkers. The Inpatient Neurology Unit is active in Progressive Medical and Surgical patient care. Our nurses provide care to a highly acute population of neurological and neurosurgical patients in a fast-paced environment. Majority of the patients arrive through the Emergency Department or as a stepdown from our Trauma Neuro Intensive Care Unit.

  Highlights for the Inpatient Neurology unit include:

• Longevity - RNs who have been with St. Vincent 20+ years and aManager who has been inpatient manager for 7 years and with St. Vincent for 17 years.

  PATIENTS WE SERVE:

  Medical: Stroke, TIA, Seizure, Trauma Injuries, MS, Myasthenia Gravis, and GB

  Surgical: Intrathecal Test Dose/ Pump, Aneurysm Repairs, Craniotomy, and Laminectomy/Discectomy

  Experience preferred: Minimum of one-year clinical nursing experience as an RN in an acute care setting.

  St. Vincent Inpatient Neurology unit is located at 2001 W. 86 th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260 is hiring Full-Time, Night Shift - RN - 7:00PM – 7:30AM, Sunday – Saturday; Full-Time (36 hours) a week; scheduled every third weekend and every other holiday. Shifts are 12 hours.

What You Will Do

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Responsibilities:

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.

• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.

• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.

• One or more of the following required:

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or jobtransfer date.

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
