Indiana University Health Registered Nurse- Cardiac Cath Lab in Indianapolis, Indiana

The RN is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of proficient, evidence-based care, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The clinical nurse participates in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes and improve operational efficiency. The nurse adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.

The IU Health Methodist Cardiac Cath Lab is a Level 1 STEMI program providing patients with access to lifesaving treatments, cutting-edge technology and research-based medicine. The cardiac cath lab team cares for adult cardiac patients using team work, strong critical thinking and quick interventions. The RN provides hands on care for patients undergoing diagnostic heart caths, interventional cardiac caths and structural heart procedures. This position requires critical care nursing experience, a learning attitude, personal engagement in the teaching/learning process and initiative to help others. In the cath lab, nurses have the opportunity to use their nursing skills and experience to make an immediate impact on our patient’s lives!

Hours: M-F 7a – 5:30 pm / 4 days week – call is required. Must live in a 30 min. response time

Required experience: At least 1 year critical care experience, or strong PCU skills


  • Requires current state of Indiana license as a Registered Nurse.

  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

  • Requires an Associate of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.

  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
