Job LocationThe Manager, Institutional Review Board, position is located in Indianapolis, IN.Job Duties

  • The Manager, Institutional Review Board, will be responsible for the effective management and coordination of the Institutional Review Board (IRB).

  • Partner on the development of policies on the protection of human subjects

  • Works with Director, Research Compliance and Regulatory Affairs to recruit and interview prospective IRB chairs and members

  • Supervises training and orientation of new members to the technical and ethical literature, appropriate policy, statutes and regulations, and duties as IRB members

  • Advises IRB members of review requirements based on policy, regulations, statute, and legal precedent

  • Monitors changes and recommends appropriate revisions in policy and procedures

  • Supervises and completes ethical and technical review of proposals meeting criteria for exempt and expedited review

  • Responsible for daily administration of IRB including, triaging submissions based on appropriate review level, routing submission for review, creating and distributing minutes and agendas, drafting and sending all correspondence and IRB invoicing.

Experience Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant IRB experience.EducationBachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.License Certified IRB professional or eligible preferred.Skills

  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office Suite programs with proficiency

  • Ability to manage multiple projects

  • Able to identify and help solve problems for team and team members

  • Possess exceptional customer service skills

  • Able to adapt to varying project and team workload changes and demands

  • Able to work without close supervision

  • Able to be mobile to network locations as needed

  • Ability to manage projects and assignments from start to completion
