The Executive Director Clinical Operations IHCI position allows for remote work with onsite requirements in both Indianapolis and Evansville, IN.

Job Duties

The Innovative Healthcare Collaborative of Indiana (IHCI) is dedicated to serving individuals in our communities and across healthcare teams through deployment and implementation of population health best practices. By collaborating with our partners, IHCI provides the people, processes, and tools to support improvement in quality and patient outcomes for the populations we serve.

The Executive Director Clinical Operations IHCI has primary responsibility for oversight of IHCI clinical operations that support its partners and patients. The Executive Director of Clinical Operations leads IHCI’s clinical teams in collaboration with the IHCI Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to deliver high patient & provider satisfaction and high quality outcomes, and to deliver strong clinical and economic results against value-based care contracts. This leader will drive clinical operational success for both existing and new lines of business, and represent the organization to boards and executive committees.


  • Minimum eight (8) years clinical staff management experience in population health management, managed care / insurance, or hospital case management.

  • Population health and value-based care clinical operations experience that demonstrates leadership, strong employee engagement, and proven clinical outcomes.

  • Experience with medical groups, health plan clinical operations, case management, post-acute care, and experience leading value-based care, population health, and clinical transformational initiatives.

  • Must have proven experience driving organizational change collaboratively as we build infrastructure to support value-based payment models.


Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required. Master’s degree in nursing or business, preferred.


Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in the state of Indiana as listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).


  • Must partner effectively with internal and external stakeholders and excel working in an ambiguous environment.

  • Must possess a high degree of integrity and bring both the drive and initiative necessary build out and scale operations associated with sustainable performance in value-based care.

  • Ability to effectively lead and build a team culture that possesses a high degree of integrity and commitment to the individuals we serve.

  • Ability to adapt to a variety of situations, change, and new learnings.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal team members and key stakeholders – including public speaking, PowerPoint, dashboards, visualizations, and/or other presentation formats.

  • Ability to gain and use knowledge of best practices, processes, regulations, value-based care programs, tools and software to support performance in value-based care.

  • Skilled in creating solutions and leading operational clinical teams that support population health efforts and performance in value-based care programs.

  • Creates and implements standards and procedures within scope of responsibility.

  • Ensures execution of operational policies, strategies, and effective operations.

  • Seeks out industry best practices and incorporates relevant ideas.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
