Provides direct resident care providing a safe and therapeutic environment through daily assessments, treatment plan implementation with the provision of individual group instruction of activities of daily living skills in a group home setting.
Location
The Client Support Technician will mainly work near Community Hospital East stationed at a group home. Occasionally the Client Support Technician will travel to Shelbyville, IN.
Job Duties
Provide community-based, recovery focused, case management and activities of daily living (ADL) training to the shared caseload of persons with serious mental illness (SMI) on an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team
Participate with the multidisciplinary team in treatment the planning and delivery of planned services including medication monitoring, employment services and mental health and addictions treatment
Experience
Experience in a helping field preferred
Education
High school diploma or GED equivalent
License
Valid driver’s license, and driving record that adheres to CHI policy guidelines
Skills
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
Must possess, by specialized training and/or experience, specific age-specific competencies to manage with the needs of the patient population served
Must be able to assist clients with daily living skills as needed, participate in daily activities and then perform household duties as needed
Reading and writing abilities
Excellent documentation skills
Ability to cognitively analyze and reason to perform therapeutic interventions
Auditory skills to hear reporting by clients of their problem
