Covance Study Technician Pathology in Greenfield, Indiana
Covance is hiring Study Technicians for our Necropsy department in Greenfield, IN site.
Put your degree in Animal Science, Biology or Veterinary Technician to work in real science! In this position as a Necropsy Study Technician your work can lead to safe medications and therapies for humans and animals.
Duties include performing necropsy and/or histology task on a variety of laboratory animals in in compliance with the appropriate SOPs, GLPs, and regulatory guidelines, additional duties not limited to;
Completes multiple tissue freezing techniques and measuring of tissues utilizing calipers
Prepares histological trimming, bagging of tissues, and embedding
Performs exsanguination, gross necropsy, and tissue collections on multiple species
Carry out multiple fluid sample collection routes on rodents and creates bone and blood smear slides.
Extensive training provided along with fantastic growth opportunities! Starting pay rate for recent graduates and/or candidates with less than one-year experience in his field $15.00 per hour

Bachelor degree in Life Sciences, Associate degree in Laboratory Animal Technology or Associate degree in Veterinary Technology and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education.AALAS certification as Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician level is preferred, but not required. Open to recent graduates as well as experienced professionals. Extensive training is provided! Requires at least 6 months of hands on experience with laboratory or research animals, and/or hands on experience in animal care, or animal farming.
