Animal Research Equipment Technician

Greenfield, IN

As an Equipment Technician, you will provide general animal facility maintenance cleanliness, and organization in compliance with standard operating procedures and good laboratory practices along with regulatory agency guidelines. You need to be detail-oriented in completing work and following up on issues. You’ll be supporting valuable work we’re preforming to improve lives! You’ll need to be independent worker and prioritize your work to meet deadlines. The position requires ability to push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs. You need to be comfortable working around laboratory animals (i.e. rodents, canine, primates, rabbits, pigs, etc.) and wearing PPE. Duties include but not limited to;

  • Maintains well documented laboratory records according to SOP’s & GLPs.

  • Reviews other animal technician, equipment service technician data and identifies potential problems.

  • Maintain storage rooms in Equipment Tracking database.

  • Monitors environmental conditions and reports deviations to supervisor.

  • Provides and maintains inventory of equipment and supplies.

  • Able to adapt techniques to new procedures or particular needs as directed.

  • Effectively schedules multiple assignments.

  • Reviews own data and identifies potential problems.

  • Can perform quality, consistency and facility inspections.

  • Can create and submit work orders when applicable.

  • Must be able to work in a laboratory setting with laboratory animals (ie rodents, canine, primates, rabbits, pigs, etc).

  • Will require PPE (personal protective equipment).

Full time position with great benefits! Daytime work hours, may require overtime work

Education/Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of related experience preferred.AALAS certification at the Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician level is desirable but not required

Familiarity with GLP (Good Laboratory Practices) preferred

Experience:

Prior experience working with animals in either laboratory or farm setting preferred by not requiredSome laboratory experience preferred but not required Proficiency in computer skills; Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)Ability to maintain equipment and machinery as trainedAbility to push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs
