Parkview Health Patient Care Technician in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Under the direction of a licensed Nurse and with respect for human dignity delivers a variety of high quality, basic patient care services that meet the needs and uniqueness of assigned patients. Is responsible for the delivery of quality care and service excellence; and adheres to the PH Standards of Behavior.

High school diploma or the equivalent with a GED. Must meet one of the following requirements: current CNA, or must take 5 week CNA course (CNA class and time spent in class paid for by Parkview) at time of hire; 2 years’ experience in a healthcare related field, training time will be determined based on experience; or currently enrolled in nursing school having completed first clinical rotations. If candidate is at least 18 years of age but does not yet have a current high school diploma/GED, must meet the following requirements: must be actively working towards high school diploma/GED and receive within 1 year of hire; AND have current CNA license; OR have participated in a Health Occupations Education (HOE) program.

Must have current CPR at or above the Healthcare Provider level from the American Heart Association or obtain within 60 days of hire.

Must be able to attend four (4) days of New Hire/Patient Care/EPIC Orientation. Typical Orientation schedule is Monday (AM), Tuesday (All Day), Wednesday (All Day), and Thursday (PM).
