Parkview North Hospital Legal Counsel - Payor Contracting & Health Plan and Benefits in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Summary: Serves as primary legal counsel supporting Parkview’s payor contracting, health plan and employee benefits matters. Also serves as legal counsel on managed care matters, direct to employer health plan and services arrangements, occupational health, and clinical integration program matters. Acts as an internal resource to Parkview Payor Strategies and Payor Contracting in negotiation of third-party payor contracts; provides contract specific information and resolution of issues to payor and internal customers. Assists Payor Strategy, Health Plan and Occ. Health leaders in researching and analyzing contract matters and addressing complex legal issues. Serves as a legal resource for staff and PH leaders on payor, insurance, health plan, managed care and benefit matters. Assists with transactions related to payor strategies and Parkview’s clinical integration program. Assists with other Parkview Health legal matters, as assigned.

Education: Must have Bachelor’s Degree and Law Degree from an accredited law school.

Licensure/Certification: Must be licensed to practice law in Indiana. If licensed to practice law in another state, must obtain an Indiana license within one (1) year of hire.

Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of health law experience. Substantial payor contracting and/or health plan experience preferred. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Requires broad knowledge of contract law strong business and financial acumen and the ability to effectively present information to senior leadership and boards.
