Parkview Health Diabetes Care Services Assistant in Fort Wayne, Indiana
Summary: With the support and direction of Diabetes Care Services Leadership, the Diabetes Care Services Assistant has responsibility and accountability for delivery of high quality departmental tasks and patient care for a designated group of patients in accordance with individual patient needs, physician orders, and hospital and departmental policies. Maintains confidentiality of information regarding patients/significant others and all healthcare team members. Shares responsibility for managing resources, supplies and equipment. Assists with coordination of patient care activities and departmental services. Provides clerical and unit related services as specified by the unit.
Education: High school diploma or GED required. College degree preferred.
Licensure/Certification: CNA or CMA certification preferred or the equivalent of healthcare experience and education. Current CPR. Must achieve and maintain department certification requirements to perform patient care activities.
Experience: Prefer one year minimum of experience working in the patient care setting preferably providing direct patient care. Prefer one year of clerical experience including medical billing patient registration and scheduling preferably in the medical field. Strong customer service and user experience skills needed. Must have proficient computer skills and general understanding of computer applications including electronic medical record and virtual care. Demonstrates ability to multi-task and work independently using critical thinking skills. Flexibility to work on multiple projects concurrently. Works independently and adequately adapts to a changing work environment. Desires to learn new work processes and systems. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
