Critical Care Transport - Registered Nurse (RN)

  • Location : Ascension St. Vincent Evansville, Main Campus

  • Department : Critical Care Transport

    Opportunity available:

  • Full Time (36 hours a week)

  • Rotating Shift (12 hour shifts)

  • Weekend Commitment: every other weekend

    Ascension St. Vincent Evansville is developing a new Critical Care Transport team to serve our Tri-State area! This team will be Critical Care staff featuring a mixture of Registered Nurses, Paramedics, and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT). This specialized team will be responsible for the transportation of critically ill patients from a facility where the patient’s needs exceed available resources to a facility that can meet their needs, while maintaining a specialized level of care.

What You Will Do

Provide high quality patient care in conjunction with fellow team members during transport between facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform assessment and stabilization of patients as well as any necessary diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.

  • Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; making or recommending necessaryadjustments by collaborating with team members and multidisciplinary members.

  • Participate in decision-making and partners with the multidisciplinary team to enhance operationalefficiency.

  • Complete all appropriate medical documentation.

  • May be required to drive an ambulance to transport patients and/or supplies.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Advanced Life Support obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.(ACLS)

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

  • Certified Registered Nurse specializing in Flight obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date orjob transfer date required.(CFRN)

  • Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support or certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation obtained within 6 months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.

  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or jobtransfer date required.

Education:

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. BSN or higher preferred.

Work Experience:

  • Three years of experience in Emergency Department and/or ICU required.

  • Five years of experience in Emergency Department and/or ICU preferred.
