Humana Wellness Coach- Part Time, Dedicated to Employer Client - Columbus, Indiana in Columbus, Indiana
As a Wellness Coach you will work with individuals in a coaching relationship to identify and implement lifestyle changes which will result in improved health and wellness, personal relationships, family interactions and dynamics. You will follow a supported coaching model and its processes and protocols to be applied in person in a private office environment.
The Wellness Coach 2 explains, educates, reinforces, and coaches members on their tailored self-help plans. Identifies problems, sets goals, and determines the individual's health status based on assessment. Establishes goals for each individual regarding educational and health care needs. Communicates with primary care and/or treating physician to request specific health information and/or to provide an update of an individual's health care status. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.
Meet in person with members for health coaching sessions
Assist coaching members in identifying target behavior changes, goals and action plans
Use the coaching tools and resources to support and educate coaching members
Use proactive means to engage and retain coaching members
Follow member interaction documenting procedures to assure accurate reporting
Participate in onsite wellness promotion activities (approximately 20% of the role)
Bachelor’s Degree in wellness coaching, psychology, wellness/fitness, nutrition, health education, counseling, social work, parent education or related fields
Previous experience with health coaching
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills – able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to serve as a facilitator of peoples’ behavior change,
Have a learning orientation – willing and able to do independent study and participate in ongoing training to strengthen skills and knowledge
Flexible – able to change focus when required/needed
Excellent keyboard and web navigation skills: Ability to use a variety of electronic information processing tools (ie. CRM, Microsoft word, Microsoft Excel)
3+ years experience in the fields noted above (Role Essentials)
Availability to participate in local onsite wellness activities
ICHWC or CHES Certified
This position will be part time, 20 hours per week. Shifts will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Two of the shifts should be from 7 am – 3 pm and one from 7 am – 2 pm. Each shift would assume that there’s an hour lunch break. (Or a 30 minute break and then two 15 minute breaks)
This position is dedicated to a specific employer client located in Columbus, Indiana. Candidates must be located in Columbus or willing to relocate.
