Columbus Regional Hospital Echocardiograph Technician in Columbus, Indiana
ABOUT THE POSITION:
Full time – 32 hour/week; 8A – 4:30P; Tuesday– Friday
This position provides health care services, applying sonic energy and Doppler technology to assist in diagnosis or treatment. The Echocardiograph Technician performs ultrasonic imaging and related procedure to demonstrate cardiac anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgment while incorporating the Standards of Service and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Applies appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.
This position also demonstrates proficiency in Cardiac Ultrasound Technology testing. This is the level at which the Sonographer assumes all responsibilities for all categories of Cardiac Ultrasound lab testing. The Sonographer has satisfactorily completed the orientation and evaluation period (minimum of 90 days).
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid registration through either Cardiovascular credentialing International (CCI) or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical
Sonography (ARDMS) is required. The required CE credits must be maintained in accordance with the accrediting body’s requirements
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) required within 30 days of hire
