Wyndham Destinations Business Continuity Specialist in Carmel, Indiana

Wyndham Destinations is seeking a Business Continuity Specialist in Carmel, Indiana. The Business Continuity Specialist will support the Manager, Business Continuity leader in working with BCP teams to ensure that Wyndham Destinations’ personnel and assets are protected in the event of crisis or disaster situations. This will include a variety of activities, including but not limited to managing the Honeywell Alert System and WorldAware communications, supporting the tactical implementation of business continuity planning, and working to continuously improve emergency preparedness and recovery plans to keep Wyndham Destinations an industry leader. The Business Continuity Specialist will serve as a key partner for BCP teams, on-site leaders, finance, IT, facilities and other relevant departmental teams.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Business Continuity Planning (BCP)

  • Support the Manager, Business Continuity in recognizing threats and risks facing the Company.

  • Contribute to establishing and maintaining program processes and practices which effectively ensure effective business continuity in the event of a crisis or disaster.

  • Use WD BCP standard tools, templates, processes, and documents for overseeing the program.

  • Manage the tactical implementation of BCP program at multiple sites.

  • Leads and/or Supports the communication processes between site and Manager of Business Continuity.

  • Implement, test, and exercise procedures to determine, validate, and sustain the viability

  • Ensure that leadership is aware of any issues before items are escalated.

  • Ensure continuity plans assigned are up-to-date, tested, and effective while also meeting policies, standards, and guidelines.

  • Facilitate communication between business and technology groups to ensure that tactical recovery strategies meet business strategy.

  • BCP lead planner for Corporate Office and South Park Circle Facilities.

  • Crisis Management

  • Manage and facilitate Honeywell Awareness campaign for all corporate location associates, ensure associates are aware of communications process during events.

  • Follow defined guidelines within an established framework of defined procedures and select which standard procedures are most applicable to specific circumstances.\

  • Lead recovery support and business renewal staff during a disaster in the implementation of response and operating strategies.

  • Support lead planner, EMT lead, and BCP teams as applicable during a crisis event.

  • Ensure consistent, thorough and accurate communication on incidents that may impact members, associates, sites, or systems.

  • Review WorldAware system of record, and provision of information to supported teams.

  • Lead responsibilities during periods of time when BCPM needs coverage.

  • Impact Analyses and Evaluation

  • Assist with post-event action reports and corrective actions plans.

  • Use analyses of business capabilities to help assist with the creation of action plans, exercises, and programming for real-world events.

  • Regularly review Continuity Planning and related program metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Partners with BCPM to assist with analyze exercises to quantify requirements and identify required enhancements.

  • Collaborate with Internal Departments

  • Coordinate with facilities teams regarding evacuation drills

  • Work with group planners to ensure department Call trees are accurate to ensure proper communication during a crisis event.

  • Work with finance and facilities on workspace recovery requirements, ensure teams are quickly able to recover from a crisis event.

  • Promote awareness of Emergency Preparedness, Disaster Recovery, and Business Continuity policy, standards, plans, processes and arrangements.

  • Provides support for the development and delivery of training on business continuity.

  • Other duties as needed

Education

  • High school graduation or equivalent.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field desired.

Training requirements

  • Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP), Certified Functional Continuity Planner (CFCP), or Certified Disaster Recovery Engineer (CDRE) preferred.

  • FEMA related training relating to emergency preparedness, emergency operations, preferred.

Knowledge and skills

  • Ability to tactically analyze problems, implement resolutions, and make decisions.

  • Ability to communicate complexities in a simple & clear manner while engaging and interacting with all organizational/cultural levels.

  • Handle multiple, simultaneous projects and tasks while demonstrating urgency and ownership.

  • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner, with a strong attention to details.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills.

  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to align stakeholders.

  • Must be able to develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels.

  • Ability to be highly flexible in a fast-paced, dynamic and often ambiguous environment.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Job experience

  • 2-4 years of related experience (risk analysis, business impact analysis, business continuity planning, etc.), preferred in the hospitality industry.

  • Demonstrated experience in supporting projects which impact the business on a large scale.

  • Experience with field-based business units and carrying out programs in multiple locations.

  • Experience in implementing emergency response training and exercises at varied locations, preferred.

  • Specific knowledge of timeshare products, clubs, and industry trends preferred.
